Maya Jama has said “she’s happy in the friendzone” as she rules out Stormzy reconciliation.
The Love Island presenter and the rapper famously rekindled their romance in 2023.
Maya and Stormzy reconnected after she ended her engagement to NBA player Ben Simmons in July 2022.
When questioned about whether she and Stormzy (real name Michael Ebenezer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr.) will ever reconcile, she stated in a recent interview that this is the end for them.
She told The Guardian: “No, I think we’re happy in this friendship zone.”
Speaking about their relationship Maya explained: “I think it’s nice that people love him for being cute and love me for being cute, and when two people you like come together then people get excited by it. That’s just what happens in the celebrity world, don’t you think?”
She continued by mentioning how the media and general public are fascinated by the idea that “anyone” she dates will “be a thing the moment.”
Maya’s announcement of where she stands with Stormzy coincides with rumours that she has been covertly seeing Manchester City player Ruben Dias for a month after he noticed her at the European Music Awards.
According to The Sun, the pair struck up a romance after meeting at the European Music Awards in November.
Maya, 30, and Ruben, 27, were then spotted spending New Year’s Eve together in Ibiza earlier this week.

A source told The Sun: “Maya and Ruben swapped details at the EMAs and have chatted since, but things went up a gear in early December.
“When Ruben got injured and had to miss the congested new year fixtures, he jumped at the chance to see in 2025 with Maya in Spain.
“Spending New Year’s Eve together was a real step forward in their relationship. They get on really well and obviously make a gorgeous couple, but it’s early days.”
