Maya Jama ‘in talks’ for MAJOR presenting gig – after being announced as Love Island host

Maya Jama is reportedly “in talks” to host the BRIT Awards in February 2023.

Earlier this month, the popular presenter was announced as Laura Whitmore’s replacement as host of Love Island.

The Bray native, who presented three seasons of the show, shocked fans back in August when she revealed she would not be returning to host the upcoming season of the hit dating show, which is set to take place in South Africa.

Maya has now been tipped to land another huge presenting role, as host of the BRIT Awards 2023.

If chosen, the 28-year-old would be the first solo female host of the music awards since Cat Deeley presented it back in 2004.

A source told The UK Sun: “Maya Jama has proven to be a really confident and competent host and young people love her, which is key for an event like the Brit Awards.”

“Since she helped out earlier this year, her star power has risen, and she has been in talks about hosting the show on her own.”

“There are plenty of contenders vying for this year’s job as the show’s host and nothing has been signed – but Maya has made it clear she would love to take on the role.”

However, the BRIT Awards, which are set to be held on February 11, 2023, could clash with the winter series of Love Island, which Maya will be hosting in South Africa.

Earlier this month, Love Island announced Maya would replace Laura as the new host of the hit dating show.

Taking to Instagram at the time, the show’s official account wrote: “Okay, the rumours are true 😉 Say hey to your brand-new #LoveIsland host @mayajama! 💘.”

Maya commented on the post: “SO BLOODY EXCITED 😜GET ME ON THAT ISLAND🏝 ❤️.”

A host of former Love Island contestants took to the comments section to congratulate the 28-year-old on her new role.

Molly-Mae Hague wrote: “You’re going to be amazing 😭,” Shaughna Phillips said: “Sooooooo here for this recoupling!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️,” and Laura Anderson commented: “Unreal 😍🙌❤️.”
