Matty Healy is reportedly set to “break his silence” on his romance with Taylor Swift on the new upcoming The 1975 album.
Following her breakup with her long-term partner Joe Alwyn, Taylor Swift briefly dated the 1975 frontman in 2023.
However, despite their brief romance, Matty unexpectedly appeared in several of the tracks on her most recent album, The Tortured Poets Department, which came out in April of last year.

The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived and Fortnight (with Post Malone), among other tracks, are thought to be Taylor’s song about the singer, which has led to a renewed focus on their relationship by fans.
Additionally, Matty has now reportedly thrown a subtle dig at the hitmaker’s habit of penning songs about her previous relationships, claiming that it is “not interesting” and “an obvious thing to draw from.”
Now it appears the 35-year-old will make comments on his romance with the popstar in the band’s sixth record, rumoured to be called God Has Entered My Body.
The band, consisting of Matty, Ross MacDonald, Adam Hann and George Daniel, have secretly been recording their upcoming record.

Now a source has told The Sun about one lyric from a song which appears to reference Taylor: “Keep your head up Princess, your tiara is falling.”
The insider continued: “Everyone at the studio thought this was about Matty’s fling with Taylor and their fleeting romance.”
“Matty will never publicly comment on his relationships, but he lets his deepest feelings out in his songs and gets everything off his chest.”
“Fans will want to listen to the lyrics very carefully.”

“With the band set to headline Glastonbury, a new album dropping in the summer makes perfect sense for them, so they can capitalise on the performance and have some new material.”
Last year, during an appearance on Joshua Citarella’s podcast Doomscroll, Matty stated he did not want to write about relationships he had “become known for.”
He said: “Last year I became a way more well-known public figure for loads of different reasons. The only reason that I was interested in is kind of like, what I was doing.”
“So I think that a lot of artists, they become very interested in their lore, or they become interested in the things that have happened outside of their art that people know about, and they want to address that, and fair enough.”

He went on: “Maybe on my first record, when it was very much a series of journal entries, like little bits of heartache, I used to write about relationships a lot more and stuff like that.”
“But honestly I would kind of just be lying if I made a record about, I don’t know, all the stuff that was said about me or my casual romantic liaisons or whatever it may be, that I’ve kind of become known for just because I was famous.”
Making subtle jabs at artists who get inspiration from their romantic relationships, Matty said: “I think that that’s an obvious thing to draw from and I’m just not interested in it. And I think the maintenance of the status quo is something that I always like fight against.”
“So, the idea of making a record about something that personally happened to me, that by the time I put it out is gonna be like two years old. I see people doing that as well, and it’s not interesting.”
