Marnie Simpson praises single parents – after reconciling romance with fiancé Casey Johnson

Marnie Simpson has praised single parents, after reconciling her romance with fiancé Casey Johnson.

Earlier this month, the couple sparked concern that they had split after Marnie shared a series of cryptic posts, and admitted she was going through a “tough time”.

The former Geordie Shore star then shared a snap hugging her beau, writing: “Never let the sadness of your troubles and the fear of your future ruin what you have!”

The 28-year-old shares a one-year-old son named Rox with Casey, and admitted she was determined that he had a “whole family structure” after growing up in a single parent household.

Speaking on the latest episode of her podcast Marnie’s Home Truths, the reality star praised her mother Sharon Kenney for raising her as a single mother.

“Since I became a mum, I have so much respect for single parents. Like on a serious note, I don’t know how you do it,” Marnie admitted.

Sharon explained: “It’s lonely, it’s hard-work, you’ve got to be mum and dad. I have got so much respect for all these single mums and dads as well, there’s a lot of single dads as well.”

“Do you know how hard it is to bring up a child anyway, but to go out there and do it alone, to bring another human being up?”

Marnie’s father left her and Sharon when she was a baby, and sadly passed away in 2017.

Marnie and Casey met on MTV dating show Single AF in 2017, and welcomed their son Rox in October 2019.

After announcing their engagement in August, Marnie recently opened up about the couple’s plans to wed this year.
