Love Island’s Kaz Kamwi’s family reveal she has been receiving ‘vulgar racist abuse’

Kaz Kamwi’s family have revealed she’s been receiving “vulgar racist abuse” online.

The fashion blogger’s social media accounts are being run by her sister Banji while she’s in the Love Island villa.

Taking to her Instagram Stories on Thursday morning, Kaz’s family and friends urged viewers to “be kind” to the contestants.

They wrote: “Morning Guys, Kaz’s family and friends here. We understand that a lot of you love watching the show and that people will have differing opinions.”

“However, this does not excuse the vulgar racist abuse we have been receiving on her account. Please remember to always #bekind.”

It comes after Kaz faced backlash online for “using” Irish contestant Matthew MacNabb to make Tyler Cruickshank “jealous”.

After seeing a photo of Tyler kissing new girl Clarisse Juliette in Casa Amor, Kaz decided to give Matthew a chance – and coupled up with him in the recoupling.

On Wednesday night, Tyler told Kaz he was ending things with Clarisse because he still had feelings for her.

Kaz told Tyler that she would continue to get to know Matthew but there was a possibility that she would rekindle her romance with him.

Matthew pulled Kaz for a chat after Tyler told him about their conversation.

The Belfast native said: “Being told through Tyler is not ideal, because it makes me think would you have actually told me?”

Kaz told Kaz she would “try” to hive him 100%, to which Matthew replied: “Well, that’s probably not good enough like…”

“You know what? Screw this for a sec. I need to cool down because you’re p***ing me off,” he added, before storming off.

Taking to Twitter to react to last night’s episode, one viewer wrote: “matthew deserves the world , he got used by kaz just to make tyler jealous and admit in the end she still had feelings for tyler absolute mugs.”

Another penned: “Kaz literally used Matthew until Tyler was jealous enough to want her again.”

Tonight’s show will see two boys and two girls go home – with Hugo, Amy, Tyler, Clarisse, Sam and Mary all vulnerable.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on Virgin Media One and Virgin Media Player.
