Love Island’s Adam Collard and Zara McDermott nearly ‘called it a day’ as they recently reached ‘a make or break point’

Love Island‘s Adam Collard and Zara McDermot nearly “called it a day” as they recently reached a “make or break point.”

The pair coupled up in the villa during the summer, but Zara was voted out by her fellow islanders before her beau, who was later booted out with another woman.

The reality stars reignited their romance on the outside though and have seemed rock solid since the programme ended, with little or no drama following them around.

It seems like everything hasn’t been perfect for the couple though, as Adam told the Irish Mirror: “I don’t think you can go with the pressure. We were at a make or break point like six weeks ago and I think it would have been very easy to call it a day then in a normal situation.”

“We’ve done the worst part now, we’ve had so much stress and it’s only going to get better.”

“I had to have security when I first came out of the villa, maybe because because there were that many women who thought that I had to change their opinion. I think if you go with the public pressure of all of that, you sort of lose yourself in it.”

While the pair moved in together after leaving the villa and even have each other’s initials tattooed on their hands, the couple don’t want to rush things, especially not marriage.

“They say it about every couple I think. Because our relationship was formed in the public eye, everyone wants you to hurry up and they want to grow with you. There has been a lot of people asking us [about marriage],” Zara said.

“It’s going to be when we’re ready and not about anyone else.”

The couple’s reunion with their fellow islanders is set to air tonight on the Love Island Christmas Reunion, on Virgin Media Two at 9PM.
