Love Island winners Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey welcome second child

Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey have welcomed their second child.

The Love Island stars welcomed their “beautiful baby girl” early this morning, after Cara was taken into hospital on Saturday to be induced.

Nathan shared the news on Instagram, and called their baby girl a “little princess”.

“Cara delivered our beautiful daughter this morning. She’s done an absolutely fantastic job,” the father-of-two announced.

“I just want to say Cara you are a hero,” he added, “I’m really, really emotional this morning. Everything is good, Cara’s doing great, baby is doing great.”

“Just want to say one thing us blokes could never in a million years go through what women do, so everyone woman that has given birth – hats off to you because I don’t think us geezers have the pain threshold.”

“Massive congratulations to Cara, you’ve done a fantastic job. Welcome to the world my little daughter.”

Cara was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia prior to the birth, a condition which causes high blood pressure and can be deadly for both mother and child if untreated.

Cara and Nathan won the 2016 series of Love Island together, and three years later they tied the knot in June 2019.

The couple already share two-year-old son Freddie, and they first announced they were expecting in March.

Cara previously admitted she was struggling to enjoy the pregnancy, amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“I still keep forgetting that we’ve got another one on the way, and to be honest with you all I’m really not enjoying this pregnancy,” she admitted.

“It’s probably something that I shouldn’t say out loud but I just wanted to let any other mums to be if their feeling the same way that I am too,” she continued.

“I’m sure the mumsbrigade will moan & tell me not to be selfish and I’m lucky to be having and baby and that there is a global crisis going on. ”

“And I agree with all the statements but it’s not taking away from the fact that I feel robbed of being able to enjoy this amazing time with my family & friends.”

“Nothing I or anyone can do, just the way it is but thanks for listening & hopefully we might be free again by the time this one is nearly making an appearance.”
