Love Island star Laura Anderson orders Covid test after falling ill following Dubai trip

Laura Anderson has revealed she’s ordered a Covid test, after falling ill following her trip to Dubai.

The Love Island star has been self-isolating at home after returning from her trip abroad earlier this month.

The Glasgow native took to her Instagram Stories on Monday to explain she “hadn’t been feeling very good”, despite testing negative for the virus before isolating.

The 31-year-old said: “To everyone messaging me that had symptoms of just a blocked nose and they actually had Covid, I have ordered a home test just to be safe.”

“But I just think, how could I possibly have caught it doing ten days in isolation after having a negative test? Only me, only me would catch it in isolation.”

Laura added: “Maybe [I caught it] from a delivery guy. I will let you guys know.”

Earlier this month, the reality star faced major backlash online for jetting off during the pandemic.

Defending her trip, Laura said at the time: “The reality for me coming here prior to lockdown just as an FYI was so I could still earn money because I ain’t a millionaire.”

“I live alone in Glasgow with no family or friends close enough that are allowed to travel to me,” Laura explained.

“So for my own mental health being in Dubai I can be around my family and friends that still live here since I lived here for 8 years prior to Love Island, I still call UAE home.

“I’m definitely not out and about everyday as I need to be on my laptop working and life here is strict but has loosened recently due to a lot worse restrictions than we endured at the start.”

“Some of you many already know this or you may not or you may not care,” she continued.

“Thanks for your energy, I can take the punching bag treatment most of the time and to be honest I’d rather be the person you gave out to.”

Laura also explained that she had jetted off before the UK introduced stricter lockdown measures.

Dubai has been taken off the UK’s travel corridor list, which means anyone arriving from the country must self-isolate.
