Love Island bombshell Jay Younger reveals he has a famous relative

It turns out Gemma Owen isn’t the only Love Island contestant with a well-known family member.

Scottish bombshell Jay Younger, 28, entered the villa on Tuesday night alongside 22-year-old Remi Lambert.

In his pre-show interview, Jay revealed he also has a famous relative, as his grandfather is a sporting legend.

From Lifted Entertainment

His grandad Tommy Younger used to play for Liverpool FC and was captain of Scotland back in the 1950s.

Jay said: “He was in the hall of fame for Liverpool and he was in the hall of fame for Hibernian FC.”

Tommy had an international career, and was capped by Scotland 24 times, in an unbroken sequence over the course of three years.

The footballer made his debut in 1955 in a friendly match against Portugal at Hampden Park, Glasgow.

The Scotsman also kept goal for Scotland during the 1958 World Cup in Sweden. His appearance in the finals against Paraguay was his last appearance for his national team.

Once he had retired, Tommy became Vice President of the Scottish Football Association in 1983, a position he held until his death eight months later, at age 53.

Speaking ahead of the show, Jay said: “I think I am going to be a supportive Islander, I think I am going to bring a lot of fun.”

“I think genuinely have what most females want. I’ve got a good job, I think I am a good looking lad and I have a lot of fun so I feel like I could add a lot of value to their lives if they add a lot of value to mine,” the Investment Analyst continued.

When asked why he’s currently single, the Edinburgh native replied: “I’ve just been very indecisive. I think I am just not one to settle down easily.”
