Lord Sugar unapologetic as he defends himself following backlash for racist remark

Lord Sugar has been blasted for a racist tweet about Senegal’s World Cup team.

The businessman has been unapologetic as he defended himself on Twitter, failing to see how the remark has caused offence.

He tweeted, “I recognise some of these guys from the beach in Marbella. Multi tasking resourceful chaps.”

Twitter users blasted The Apprentice star for his racism and were further outraged when he defended his remarks.

He compared Senegal’s national team to the people on beaches who sell sunglasses to which Babita Sharma said, “A shocking, vile tweet that you take a screen grab of because you know it will soon be deleted.”

Lord Sugar then told Babita, “if it so vile why have you retweeted it. You make me sick.”

He deleted the post but appeared to still be oblivious as to why people found it offensive.

The Lord tweeted, “Just been reading the reaction to my funny tweet about the guy on the beach in Marbella. Seems it has been interpreted in the wrong way as offensive by a few people”

“Frankly I can’t see that I think it’s funny. But I will pull it down if you insist,” he conceded.
