Little Mix star Jesy Nelson has revealed that she tried to take her own like due to online bullying and harassment. The singer faced constant criticism for her weight and her looks, and was compared to the other girls in the band.
She explained that following the band’s X Factor win, the online abuse reached it’s peak, and she felt like suicide was her only option.
Thankfully, she was saved after taking an intentional overdose of pills by her then boyfriend.
The singer has opened up about her ordeal ahead of the release of her new documentary Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out.
“I just remember thinking, ‘I just need this to go away, I’m going to end this'” she recalled to the BBC.Â
“I just remember thinking this is never going to go. I’m going to constantly wake up and feel sad for the rest of my life.”
“So what is the point in being here? I physically couldn’t tolerate the pain any more.”
After making the documentary, Jesy described feeling powerful, and feels she has overcome the demons from her past.
