Katie Price insists her trip to Turkey for ‘surgical procedure’ is ‘essential’

Katie Price has defended her decision to travel to Turkey for a “surgical procedure” to help her lose weight.

The former glamour model faced backlash for jetting off with her fiancé Carl Woods earlier this week, as Turkey is on the UK’s red list regarding travel.

According to the UK government, countries on the red list should not be visited “except in the most extreme of circumstances” as they are deemed high-risk for new and emerging strains of coronavirus.

A rep for the mother-of-five has insisted her travel is “essential”, telling MailOnline: “Katie has travelled with her fiancé to undergo a surgical procedure.”

“The purpose of this travel is essential in that it is for her work, she is being filmed undergoing the operation.”
