Kate Garraway has revealed that her husband had a “stable day” – following her return to Good Morning Britain.

The presenter’s husband Derek Draper has been in ICU since the end of March after contracting COVID-19.

Taking to Instagram, Kate shared a photo with her co-host Ben Shephard, alongside a hopeful message.

“Well I survived my 1st day back without crashing the show thanks to the brilliant @benshephardofficial, the whole wonderful @gmb team & all of YOUR patience!!” she wrote.

“Thanks so much for your incredibly kind messages. Means such a lot.”

Kate added: “Derek had a stable day too so 🤞🤞🤞🙏🙏🙏. See you at 6 a.m tomorrow xxx.”

During her GMB return, the 52-year-old admitted that David Beckham reached out to her and offered to do “anything” he could to help her family – amid her husband’s COVID-19 battle.

Kate expressed that it meant so much to her that the famous sportsman was moved by her story.

Kate’s husband has opened his eyes

“He did very sweetly contact me on Instagram,” she explained on the show.

“He asked if there was anything he could do to help and I was tempted to say ‘your Mrs wardrobe, that would be helpful’ on a joking level.”

“I just thought it was so sweet and I said to be honest just being able to tell Darcy and Billy you’d been in touch, so I said ‘you’ve helped enough thank you,'” she noted.

On the latest episode of Goss Chats, Ali Ryan chats to Ronan Keating about his stat-studded upcoming music special, and working with Robbie Williams on a special new song dedicated to Stephen Gately.

#GossChats is sponsored by top aesthetic clinic Haus of JeJuve, which is now back open for bookings.
