Joey Essex is set to make a massive career move.
He is reportedly in talks with celebrity promoter Misfits Boxing.
The reality TV star is rumoured to face off against Jake Paul, KSI, or fellow Love Island star Tommy Fury in a £1 million payday inside the boxing ring as early as next year.
A source told The Sun: “Joey’s always been into his fitness but in recent years has become more and more passionate about boxing.”
“Joey is excited about this new venture and looks forward to one day taking on the titans of the ropes.”
The founder of Misfits Boxing, Mams Taylor previously spoke about Joey’s desire to get in the ring.
He said: “Joey’s got family background in boxing so I think he’s excited to get in the ring and we’re excited to have him.”
Joey’s uncle is the British trainer Tony Sims, who once trained professional boxer Anthony Joshua.
“Joey’s going to be very committed, we’ve spoken daily for the last few days and he’s really on it.”
Mams continued: “I’ve got a list for him and we’re going to go through it and figure it out.”
“If Joey builds up, has a good few fights and develops a lot of skill and it will be a fair fight and a challenge, then anything is possible down the line.”
Joey previously said he would “wallop” rumoured opponent KSI and claimed there was beef between the pair.
Last Month, MailOnline revealed that Joey would be taking a TV break after appearing on 15 reality shows during his career.
The former TOWIE star revealed that he feels he has done everything he can on the UK reality scene.
He has appeared in Celebs Go Dating, Celebrity Masterchef, Strictly Come Dancing, Dancing On Ice, Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, and I’m A Celebrity.
A source told MailOnline, “Joey has completed TV in the UK, there’s no projects out there which excited him, he’s done them all.”
“There has been big interest in the US and that was even before Love Island, so that’s his next move once he’s had some time off.”
The source continued, “Joey is keen to move his career stateside and make a name for himself out there, where the reality market has some fresh and exciting options.
The source added, “His team Neon Management have been inundated with magazine cover shoots and podcast interviews since Love Island plus more meetings with Netflix, so Joey has never been more in demand.”
“They love a Brit [in the US] but they’ve never come across anyone quite like Joey so there is every possibility he could conquer America too.”
Joey made his first reality show appearance on The Only Way Is Essex during the show’s first years.
His cousin Chloe Sims was one of the original cast members.
He became one of the breakout stars, staying for three years and being known for his comedy and “reem” catchphrase.
