Jake Quickenden announces he is expecting his first child with girlfriend Sophie Church

Jake Quickenden has announced that he is expecting his first child with his girlfriend Sophie Church.

The reality star took to Instagram this evening to share the exciting news, posting a gorgeous snap of the happy couple.

“I AM GOING TO BE A DAD!!” he exclaimed, “I can’t believe it , we are going to have a little Jake or little sophie causing mayhem!!”

Opening up about his late father Paul, who passed away in 2008, Jake added: “My dad was the best dad in the world and I also have an incredible step dad, I wish my dad was about to see how I will be a role model to this baby, Fred’s super excited aswell.

“2021 is going to be the biggest test yet, but I’m so excited for it! ❤️❤️❤️????”

Jake already takes on the role of step-father for Sophie’s six-year-old son Freddie, who she had in a previous relationship.

Sharing the same photo, Sophie wrote: “Our little family is soon to become 4 & we’re overwhelmed with happiness & excitement to welcome to the little one into the world. Jake will be amazing dad & Freddie will be the best big brother.”

Speaking to HELLO! Magazine about their pregnancy, the couple admitted that they had suffered a miscarriage in secret last year.

Sophie said: “Even though I was only six weeks pregnant it really hit me hard.

“With this pregnancy we still carry that worry, so it was nice to have the scan and know that everything is okay.

“We had been trying for a year and a half and I was doing ovulation tests and everything and Jake said: ‘Stop putting pressure on us, it will happen when it’s meant to happen.’

“But when you really want something it’s so hard to not feel disappointed every month,” she admitted.

On becoming a father, Jake said: “It’s something I’ve always wanted to do and I feel completely ready for it.
