Emma Willis has revealed her best friend Giovanna Fletcher was banned from taking her first choice luxury item into the new camp this Sunday.
The popular blogger, who is the wife of McFly star Tom Fletcher, wanted to bring a pair of cycling shorts into the camp – but bosses denied her request.
Speaking to The Sun Online, Emma explained: “She [Giovanna] came round just before lockdown and I was like: ‘What’s your luxury item going to be?’ she didn’t know and I said: ‘You have to take cycling shorts – long cycling shorts!’
“She was like: ‘Why would you do that??’ and I said so bugs aren’t going to crawl up the places you don’t want them to crawl up!”
“She hadn’t thought about that and was like: ‘Oh my god, I need to take cycling shorts!’ – nobody wants a cockroach up the butt, or any other orifice.”
“But she wasn’t allowed because that’s clothing – you can only take in the clothing they approved.”
Emma said she can’t wait to watch her pal on the show, but admitted Giovanna will “desperately miss” her three sons – Buzz, 6, Buddy, 4, and Max, 2.
She said: “If she’s in there until the end that’s three weeks, and she’s also in isolation now without her children so that will be four – that’s a bloody long time for any parent.”
“I have no doubt it will get to her and she will desperately miss them, but she watches I’m A Celeb every year and she knows exactly what she’s getting into.”
“She’s pretty clued-up and a huge fan of the show, Dougie [Poynter, Tom’s bandmate] and Matt have been in it and won it so she knows exactly what to expect.”
Emma’s husband Matt Willis famously won I’m A Celeb back in 2006.
Emma added: “He didn’t give her any tips, he just said you’re going to have the best time of your life. It’s one of Matt’s most favourite experiences, he had the best time in there.”
