While we eagerly await the 2022 Love Island lineup, we’ve rounded up the rumoured contestants for the upcoming season.

Take a look:

Sophie Draper

The first rumoured contestant to appear on the upcoming series of Love Island is 22-year-old beautician Sophie Draper.

Sophie was famously in a relationship with Aston Villa right-back Matty Cash for four years, before their shock split last year.

A source told The Sun: “She has her own beauty salon and already leads a jet-set lifestyle, which she likes showing off on Instagram, so she wouldn’t be fazed by being on TV.”

“Love Island bosses think she could be a good fit for the show, it’s early days still but she definitely has potential. Matty will be pretty shocked to see her looking for love on TV, but he publicly moved on pretty quickly.”

Former Love Island contestant Zara McDermott’s brother Brad McDermott also reportedly wants to make a name for himself in the TV world.

Zara appeared on the 2018 series of the ITV show and left the Love Island villa with co-star Adam Collard, only to split eight months later.

A source told The Sun: “Brad is a young, good looking guy, and he has seen how appearing on Love Island has completely transformed Zara’s life.”

“Though she didn’t find long-term love, it has served as a great platform for her. She also had a great time there, and he thinks it would be a great laugh.”

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu

Turkish actress Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu is another rumoured contestant to appear on the new series of Love Island.

The London-based beauty already has 345k followers on Instagram, which includes TOWIE stars Pete Wicks and James Locke.

Ekin-Su is a working actress, and has starred in a Turkish TV series called Kuzey Yildizi.

A source told the The Sun: “Ekin-Su is the perfect contestant to get viewers tuning in this summer. Not only is she beautiful, she’s also used to being on TV and moves in showbiz circles so she’s sure to bring fireworks.”

“She’ll have no shortage of guys after her in the villa, that’s for sure.”

Joshua Legrove

Joshua Legrove has already been dubbed the “the new Tommy Fury” of the latest series.

According to The Sun, bosses are hoping to sign boxer and model Joshua Legrove for the upcoming series.

A TV insider said: “Joshua is a perfect fit for the show. Bosses are hoping he’ll follow in the footsteps of boxer Tommy Fury, who was a huge hit.”

“Joshua is really handsome but there is much more to him than that – the girls will go wild for him.”

Jordan Spencer

London Lions basketball star Jordan Spencer is the latest rumoured contestant for the upcoming series of Love Island.

According to The Sun, bosses are hoping to sign the 27-year-old for the upcoming series.

A source told the publication: “It’s still too early to say whether Jordan is in the final line-up but bosses are keen.”

The TV insider added: “He’s been in talks to appear on Love Island and even met some of the producers who are working on the all-important cast list.”

Gemma Owen

Gemma Owen, who is the daughter of English football legend Michael Owen, is reportedly in talks to appear on Love Island.

According to The Sun, the 19-year-old has received her father’s blessing to go on the popular dating show this summer.

A source told the outlet: “Gemma isn’t just beautiful, smart and single, but she has one of the country’s best-loved sports stars as her dad.”

“ITV bosses are scrambling to get her signed up for this year’s Love Island,” the source continued. “However, if talks are successful, it’s likely to be a huge payday for Gemma too.”

Gemma launched her own swimwear range called OG Beachwear during the first coronavirus lockdown in 2020, and regularly promotes the brand on Instagram.

The insider added: “Weeks spent lounging about in a bikini is going to give her beachwear line the sort of boost most firms can only dream about and make her a huge star herself.”
