Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts has had her million pound mansion repossessed by the bank.

The singer had been trying to sell the £1.25 million house, based in Weybridge, Surrey, for a number of years – but in the end she was forced to strike a deal with the bank.

Speaking to The Sun, Nicola said: “It was my decision to go to the bank and ask if they would take the house in exchange for clearing the mortgage.”

“I had been trying to sell the house for years, and was so unhappy there that I decided to take the hit financially in order to move on and find a new property away from the bad memories. I’m really happy in my new home now.”

The 34-year-old originally moved into the three-bedroom penthouse back in 2009, but it’s believed she moved out of the house a few years later as she feared her ex-boyfriend knew where she lived.

Nicola has a lifetime restraining order against her ex-boyfriend Carl Davies, who she split from in 2008.

Over a period of five years following their break up, the former soldier threatened to stab and burn Nicola by sending her thousands of messages through fake social media accounts.

The singer started receiving the horrifying messages in 2012, and they didn’t stop until Carl was arrested in February 2017.

Nicola’s ex admitted one count of stalking and another count of persistent use of public communication network to cause annoyance or inconvenience.

Aside from the restraining order, Carl was handed a 15-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, which meant he would be immediately released from jail.
