Geri Horner names baby boy after close pal George Michael

Geri Horner has named her newborn son after the late George Michael, in a touching tribute to her close friend.

The 44-year-old and her husband Christian welcomed their son Montague George Hector Horner into the world this week, and a family source has since revealed why she chose George as one of her newborn son’s middle names.

“Geri wanted George to be a part of Monty’s life, so she felt it only fitting that her newborn have a middle name after the star,” they said.

Taking to Instagram, Geri posted a snap of her son’s foot with the caption, “Montague George Hector Horner arrived this morning, a beautiful little brother for Bluebell and Olivia #amazing-day #grateful #monty.”

The former Spice Girl also wrote on Twitter, “Christian and I are delighted to announce our baby boy was born this morning weighing 7lbs 8oz.”

Geri was left devastated late last year, as her close pal George was found dead on Christmas morning, aged just 53.

Geri and the Wham! singer had close ties as her 10-year-old daughter Bluebell is the goddaughter of Kenny Goss – George’s ex-boyfriend.

Montague is Geri’s first child with Christian Horner, who she wed back in 2015.
