Georgia Townend breaks her silence after brutal Love Island dumping

Georgia Townend has broken her silence after her brutal Love Island dumping.

The 28-year-old was dumped from the show on Thursday night, just one day after she entered the villa as a bombshell.

The Essex native had her eye on Hugo Hammond but in the recoupling, he chose to save Chloe Burrows – leaving Georgia single.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Georgia shared a video of the moment she found out she was dumped from the show.

She wrote: “I’m now home, unlike the football! What a whirlwind! So much to say, not enough caption characters available.”

“I entered the villa with honest intentions, I was hopeful that despite being an unorthodox method, there could be a real prospect of meeting someone.”

“Unfortunately, things don’t always pan out the way you’d hoped, but if you learn a lesson it’s always worth the tuition fee.”

”I knew before even applying I was an aberration compared to the atypical islander. I’m shite at make up, I can’t flirt to save my life, and apparently I have dreadful fashion sense 😂”

“But despite these obvious shortcomings, I wanted to represent normal girls who struggle to date, aren’t interested in the social equity and had a genuine desire to find someone.”

“I value my integrity above all else, and didn’t want to invest my time where it was unrequited or have to sabotage couples to save my own skin. Whilst that meant I was probably a shit islander it means I walked away with my dignity and respect in tact.”

“I’m now in the middle of an administrative storm, working through all your thoughtful, heartwarming messages, which I am truly blown away by and honestly overwhelmed. I promise I WILL reply to everyone, just give me a little minute. 😊”

She continued: “The main message I’m seeing over and over again is lauding me for being a breath of fresh air. You ALL can be too if you have the courage to step out from societal norms and unrealistic beauty standards.”

“NEVER compromise your values, don’t ever feel you need to change to fit in, and always be yourself so that the people looking for you, can find you. ❤️”

Georgia thanked ITV for the “amazing experience” and for allowing her to “push so deeply out of my comfort zone”.

“To my fellow islanders, you made me feel welcome and included from the off. It was a pleasure to meet you all, even for such a short period of time. Thank you for letting me bully you all into wearing pink, it was Wednesday after all 💕,” she added.

”And of course, a monumental thanks to anyone and everyone who took time out of their day to share kind words & messages of support and love, they really have been truly humbling.”

“I’m off now to get an early night, because I’ve been up far later than my 9pm bedtime many consecutive nights now. Not sure where we go from here, but I hope we enjoy the journey together. GT 💕”

Georgia concluded the post by writing: “P.s. if anyone needs a lesson in how to awkwardly stand while a s*** show of biblical proportions unfolds around you, just shout.”

Love Island continues tonight on Virgin Media One and Virgin Media Player at 9pm.
