Former Love Island star SLAMS the show’s new winter edition

The show is set to debut in January

Alexandra Cane has slammed the upcoming winter edition of Love Island.

The model, who appeared on the show in 2018, thinks the new version will make the reality TV industry too “saturated.”

According to reports in The Sun, the 28-year-old made the claims as she stepped out in Mayfair, London.

“As a contestant that’s been on the show, it just makes the industry so much more saturated,” she said.

“It just means that more TV companies are having to bring out more shows to place these people on,” she explained.

Alexandra fears that the show will “kill off” reality TV.

“There’s so many characters and it’s like how many people can you fit into the reality TV world before it like… I have a feeling it’s gonna kill it off.”

The brunette beauty was scouted for the show, and turned it down a number of times before she agreed to take part.

She entered the villa as a love interest for the unlucky-in-love Dr Alex George.

Ahead of the brand new edition of the show, ITV staff are set to jet off on New Years Day to South Africa.

According to reports in the Daily Mail, show bosses are set to recruit “test Islanders” in order to create “maximum drama” across the six-week show.

A source told the publication: “It has been decided that the show will run for six weeks instead of the usual eight.”

“The new cast of singletons fly out just days before the launch but bosses work with test Islanders to uncover the best spots in the villa to create drama.”
