Fearne Cotton has opened up about the struggles of balancing her work and social life.

The 37-year-old has been open about her struggle with depression and she has now spoken out about her ongoing battle between her working and social life.

The mother-of-two told Women’s Health: “My social life has gone down the s***ter. I used to see my friends every day, but I just can’t fit it in right now.”

“If I did, I’d be burnt out because my work life is so busy. So, I think you do have to lose something. My girlfriends aren’t going anywhere,” she admitted.

The presenter also revealed that she really struggled with her mental health over the summer months, but said that she is doing well now.

“I had a feeling of being a bit overwhelmed and knowing I wasn’t enjoying the things that I should. Then there was this weird turning point… ” she said.

“I hadn’t changed anything… but I just woke up and felt a bit better one day. I had some friends over and my husband said, ‘Oh my god! Your spark’s back, I can see it!'” Fearne continued.

“Until six months ago, I went through a two-year period of regularly getting panic attacks while driving to work,” the presenter revealed, before she said that opening up to people about her mental health helped her enormously.

“Realising I could tell people, ‘Just to let you know, these may come on,’ was a big relief,” she said.
