Fans are loving Olivia Colman’s heartwarming and hilarious acceptance speech at the Oscars

Fans have been loving Olivia Colman’s heartwarming and hilarious acceptance speech at the Oscars.

The Favourite actress took home the award for Best Actress, after an incredible award season and melted viewers’ hearts with her speech.

The 45-year-old took to the stage in shock and said: “It’s genuinely quite stressful. This is hilarious. I got an Oscar!”

“Okay, I have to thank lots of people, if by the way I forget anybody I’m going to find you later and I’m going to give you all a massive snog and I’m really sorry if I might forget now.”

“But Yorgos, my best director and the best film, and with Emma and Rachel, the two loveliest women in the world to fall in love with, and to go to work with every day, I mean, you can imagine, it wasn’t a hardship,” she continued.

“And to be in this category with these extraordinary women, and Glenn Close… you’ve been my idol for so long and this is not how I wanted it to be and I think you’re amazing and I love you very much.”

The actress then thanked her agent and family, as she also mentioned her children “who are at home and watching” before she added: “Well, if you’re not, then, well done, but I sort of hope you are. This is not going to happen again.”

Fans loved Olivia’s speech and took to Twitter to congratulate the actress on her big win.

“Olivia Colman gave one of the best, most authentic acceptance speeches I’ve seen in a long time and it was really refreshing,” one viewer wrote.

Another said that they didn’t care who won the awards, but praised Olivia on her speech: “I also don’t give a s*** who won what in general, but Olivia Colman’s speech was absolutely delightful and I totally recommend watching it if you get a chance.”

“My oscar speech would be exactly the same as Olivia Colman – struggling to thank everyone, tears in my eyes, voice wobbling and blowing kisses to Lady Gaga,” another added.
