Georgia Steel has opened up about dealing with fame and social media scrutiny following her stint on Love Island in 2018.

The reality TV star spoke exclusively to Goss.ie at the launch of the Iconic Bronze Glow Get It Gift Set at the The Devlin Hotel in Dublin this morning.

Discussing the pros and cons of her time on the show, Georgia revealed how the series completely changed her life.

“I would definitely say the big pros are you are given a really good platform to influence people, to guide people and to set a good example for people and it really did change my life,” she told us.

“I’ve always been a performer and I feel like being a performer really gave me a step up in the game.”

“There are cons as well, everyone has an opinion on your life now – no one had an opinion on my life when I was working in a bar as a shot girl!”

“It was a big, big change.”

Touching on how she deals with hate, the 21-year-old stunner said: “I think it’s good not to always be loved, it makes you very interesting if not everyone loves you, because not everyone is going to be everyone’s cup of tea and that’s okay.”

“I’m very close with my family and my friends and they got me through the hard times.”

Georgia also said that she remains close with pal Dani Dyer, who won the 2018 series with then-boyfriend Jack Fincham.

“Dani I will always have contact with, but it is quite difficult. We all become so busy and we only see each other at events and we all have our own lives going on.”

“However, I do have such a connection with the people I went on Love Island with because they’re the only people who went through that experience with me.”

“They will always have a place in my heart.”
