Ewan McGregor is set to reprise one of his most iconic roles

Ewan McGregor is set to reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi.

The actor, who played the Jedi in three Star Wars prequels from 1999 to 2005, will play Obi-Wan once again in a new TV series for streaming service Disney+.

Ewan confirmed the news at Disney’s D23 convention on Friday, and production is expecting to begin next year.

At the Disney convention, a host of huge new projects were announced – including a Lizzie McGuire, which will star original actress Hilary Duff. 

Disney’s new streaming service will launch in the US on November 12.
