Ellie Goulding reveals she hasn’t seen her mother in almost a year over, and admits the relationship ‘isn’t fixable’

Ellie Goulding has admitted that she has not seen her mother Tracey since her wedding day last August.

The Starry Eyed singer tied the knot with Caspar Jopling on August 31st last year, which she cites as the last time she saw her mother.

The songwriter revealed that she was attending therapy to deal with the issues in their “difficult relationship”.

“I haven’t seen my mother since my wedding last year,” the 33-year-old told the Independent.

“It’s frustrating because I really want to talk to you about it. But she became quite threatening when I did talk about her in the press. Discussing her was a disaster,” she admitted.

“I’ve done a lot of therapy about it because what I thought was fixable isn’t fixable.”

“I think a lot of women have difficult relationships with their mothers and we find it hard to talk openly about that.”

“I was talking to another woman earlier today who isn’t in contact with her mother and finds that deeply scarring. I hope one day I’ll be able to get this off my chest.”

The news comes months after Tracey was branded a “racist” after a tense Twitter exchange with television personality Myles Stephenson.

The feud began in January this year, after Tracey commented on how Myles spoke in a Good Morning Britain appearance following his stint in the I’m A Celebrity: Get Me Out Of Here! jungle.

“Didn’t notice it so much on [the] jungle but what’s with #myles #gmb trying to sound like a black dude??” she wrote.

“Please tell me what a “black dude” sounds like Trace?” Myles responded to Ellie’s mother.

Myles Stephenson branded Ellie Goudling’s mother a “racist”

“I’ll be sure to tell my ‘black’ side of my family that I sound like them! They’ll be happy! 2020 and racism already starting,” he continued.

“Say anything you want about my presenting ability but I will not tolerate racism one bit!

“Especially when Im just trying to brighten peoples day & ESPECIALLY when your saying that me & my ethnic background sound a certain way!”

Tracey then apologised to Myles, before wiping out her Twitter account.

“I’d like to apologise so much to you Myles and any upset it may have caused, I wrote something very childish I’m SO not racist, it was a flippant remark,” she wrote.

“I feel so totally ashamed about doing, it was taken out of context please forgive x.”
