Ekin-Su has revealed the shocking reason she and Davide Sanclimenti split.
The 29-year-old shot to fame after appearing on the hit ITV dating show in 2022, where she won the series alongside her ex.
The couple’s relationship came to an end in January, with her claiming that her ex Davide was unfaithful.
On Abby Clancy’s podcast Exhibit A, the Love Island star opened up about the moment she finally decided to call it a day.
Ekin-Su confessed, “He swore at my mum in Italy, he told her to f**k off.”
She continued, “She didn’t want him to fake propose to me.”
“He fake proposed to me in Italy, he thought it was funny to arrange paparazzi, with my mum and brother there.”
The reality star confessed, “I actually thought he was going to propose.”
“My mum said don’t do that, and he swore at my mum, if you disrespect my family, you disrespect me.”
She revealed her ex Davide continued to call her back to Manchester, but she forced herself not to, “if I don’t do the statement, I won’t let go of him, and I feel so relieved.”
In July, she vowed in her new memoir that she’s “done lying” about her split from Davide.
The reality star confessed she will open up about childhood trauma, bullying and boyfriends as she discusses life after finding fame.
While teasing on her Instagram a huge career change, The Sun confirmed she will be releasing a non-fiction book, called Be Your Own Best Friend.
The book was published on August 29.
Ekin told the publication: “I’ve got a book coming out which is all about me and the people I’ve met in life.”
“You are going to know who I am. You’re going to know why I am the way I am.”
She continued: “From childhood traumas to extreme bullying to boyfriends continuously breaking my heart, why I felt abandoned. Why I was always closer to older people.”
“So it’s everything, my experience with Davide, there’s a lot in there.”
“I’m done hiding. I’m done lying and protecting other people, this is my truth.”
“There’s also advice to help if you feel like this, what can you do? Every chapter has an advice section.”
The reality star added: “And there is a letter that I wrote to myself at the end, it’s quite emotional.”
“I speak to the 10-year-old me in the book and told her all the things I wished someone had told me back then.”
