Ed Sheeran and Prince Harry unveil their anticipated collaboration

And it's all about mental health

Ed Sheeran and Prince Harry have unveiled their much-anticipated collaboration, that they’ve been teasing on social media.

Today (October 10) is World Mental Health Day, and the pair have joined forces to raise awareness.

In a tongue-in-cheek video posted on the @SussexRoyal Instagram this morning, the pop singer and the Duke of Sussex made the announcement.

Ed opens the video by explaining that Prince Harry contacted him first about teaming up.

“Very excited today, I’m going to film a thing with Prince Harry he contacted me about doing a charity video with him,” he explained. “I’ve long admired him from afar.”

But as the pair sit down for a chat in the video, Ed seems to think they were going to discuss fighting discrimination against redheads.

“It’s a subject and a conversation that’s just not talked about enough and people all over the world are suffering,” says Prince Harry.

Ed then says, “The jokes and the snide comments I just feel like we stood up and said we’re not gonna take this anymore. We are ginger and we are going to fight!”

Harry then adds, “Ok, slightly awkward, there might have been a miscommunication… But this is about World Mental Health Day.”

Ed can then be seen deleting his ideas for his ‘Gingers Unite’ campaign on his laptop.

“Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, of course, yeah, definitely, I knew that,” he adds.

All jokes aside, the video encourages people to check in with loved ones, and reminds viewers that “there’s no need to suffer in silence.”

Their collaboration aims to encourage people to share how they are feeling, and ask for help when they need it.
