Dr Alex George has paid tribute to his younger brother Llŷr on the first anniversary of his death.

Llŷr was just 19 when he tragically took his own life on July 23 last year.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, Alex shared a selfie of him and Llŷr with their parents, writing: “I can’t believe it’s been a year.”

“Some days I really can’t accept or understand that you are not here. We miss you so much Llŷr.”

“You give me so much strength, even when times are tough and it would be easy to give up. Mum, Dad and Elliott are doing ok, they miss you so much too.”

“I would do anything to go out for a spin in the car with you again. Love you x”, the Love Island star added.

Alex has been actively campaigning for better mental health provision since the death of his brother, and was appointed as a mental health ambassador by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson earlier this year.

The A&E doctor recently returned to work on the frontline after taking some time off to focus on several mental health campaigns.
