Dermot O’Leary has revealed that Cheryl WILL return to The X Factor in 2018.
Cheryl, who welcomed her first child last year with Liam Payne, returned to the most recent series of The X Factor for the judges houses proportion of the show, where she helped select the eventual winners Rak-Su.
Speaking to Metro, Dermot said, “Cheryl’s going to come back.”
The show’s host also added that if Cheryl didn’t return, he’d love to see Mariah Carey on the judging panel, saying, “If it wasn’t Cheryl, I would love Mariah. It would be a whole new world of crazy my friend!”
Simon Cowell has a long-standing friendship with Cheryl, which famously took a blow in 2011 when she was fired from The X Factor USA via one of his producers.
However, the pair famously made up when Cheryl returned in 2014 to take her rightful place on the X Factor judging panel.
Last year, The Sun reported that Cheryl is set to replace Nicole Scherzinger in a £1.5m X Factor deal to help revive the ITV show’s ratings.
