Danielle Lloyd is turning to controversial gender selection to have a baby girl

Danielle Lloyd has confirmed that she will be opting for controversial gender selection in her next pregnancy.

Danielle’s decision comes just weeks after she revealed that she had tragically lost a pregnancy through miscarriage.

The model already has four sons, and is opting for the gender selection in order to have a baby girl.

She told Good Morning Britain that she will be having the treatment in Dubai, as it is currently illegal in the UK, where she and her family reside.

“They keep asking me all the time for a sister and obviously it’s quite difficult to explain to them so I say ‘You’ll just have to wait for the stork to bring the baby and see if it brings a girl'” she told the panel.

“For me, I’ve got such a close bond with my mum, I want that bond as well with a daughter.”

Danielle appeared on the show to discuss the ethics of gender selection.

“I’m not ungrateful that I’ve got four boys, I love them and they’re amazing and I’m so glad I was able to have four boys but there’s just something inside me that makes me want to have a daughter.”

In Danielle’s case, she wants a daughter. However in many parts of the world, having sons is considered preferential, and gender selection is considered unethical as it can lead to discrimination against the female sex.

On episode 31 of The Gosscast, Goss.ie Founder Ali Ryan sits down with RTE star Stephen Byrne.
