Dancing on Ice ratings ‘nosedive’ after Gemma Collins’ elimination

Dancing on Ice‘s ratings reportedly nosedived after Gemma Collins was eliminated.

The TOWIE star was voted out of the competition just over a week ago, after providing fans with weeks of entertainment.

While the 38-year-old said that she “needed to go” following her elimination, Gemma’s departure reportedly saw ratings of the skating competition plummet.

According to The Sun, the viewership went down by 2.6 million in the week following her elimination.

The show previously had an average of 6.5 million fans switching on the programme before Gemma left the show, while it reportedly dropped to 3.7 million on Sunday.

“This was always producers’ fears — that when Gemma went, interest would wane. They’re hoping for some fresh drama to give them another boost,” a source told the publication.

Gemma hit headlines during her time on the show as she had an on-air argument with judge, Jason Gardiner and the drama between the pair continued throughout the competition.
