The Crown’s Matt Smith says he ‘feels sorry’ for Meghan Markle marrying into the Royal Family

The Crown’s lead character Matt Smith has said he “feels sorry” for Meghan Markle, because her life is about to completely change.

The actor stars in Netflix series ‘The Crown’, which is based on the a biographical story about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, and Matt plays Prince Philip in the series.

The actor revealed that he thinks her life will completely change once she marries Prince Harry.

During his interview with Vanity Fair he said it will be “exciting” but a massive change for the Suits actress.

Matt said, “I feel sorry for her, It’s such a transition in her life, and it’s such a huge thing to take on.”

However he then added, “Life as she knows it is gone. But hey, she’s marrying the prince of Britain – how exciting for her.”

Claire Foy, who plays Queen Elizabeth in the popular series, also weighed in on the royal wedding, and reckons it’s a positive change for the monarchy.

“You realise the fact that Elizabeth forbade her sister from marrying a divorced man; it goes to show how time has changed and how they’ve had to evolve.”

The actress added, “I think that’s why the monarchy will survive, and thrive, because it’s willing to change and listen to the people and realise that some elements of the institution are outdated and unnecessary.”
