Coleen Rooney ‘hopes to settle dispute with Rebekah Vardy privately’ – to avoid nasty court battle

Their High Court battle is expected to kick off in November

Coleen Rooney has reportedly been urged to settle her dispute with Rebekah Vardy privately, to avoid a nasty court battle.

Back in June, Jamie Vardy’s wife lodged court papers which claim Coleen libelled or slandered her last October – when she accused her of selling fake stories to the press.

The WAGs had previously attempted to settle the matter amicably, but after they failed to come to an agreement, Rebekah decided to take Coleen to the High Court.

A trial is expected to kick off in November, but sources have told The Sun that Coleen’s legal team are still trying to find a way to settle their dispute privately.

An insider said: “Things have gone much further than many had expected.”

“Coleen is a rather shy and private person, so the idea of having personal matters relating to her and Wayne raked over in court is something that fills her with dread.”

The news comes after Rebekah confirmed she’s taking part in Dancing On Ice in early 2021.

During an interview on Good Morning Britain yesterday, Rebekah said she wants to ‘clear her name’ as she addressed her feud with Coleen.

The reality star said: “Look, we tried to sort things out amicably, it just didn’t work. I understand people think it’s ridiculous, but what was I meant to do?”

“I want to clear my name. I will do whatever that takes. I hope it’s going to be resolved soon. It’s just one of the things that has to go through the process unfortunately now.”

Coleen publicly accused Rebekah of selling fake stories about her last October, after she planted false information on her personal Instagram.

The wife of Wayne Rooney claimed she planted false information on her private Instagram page and blocked everyone from her story – except Rebekah’s account.

The mother-of-four said stories about her basement flooding, returning to TV, and gender selection were only viewed by Rebekah’s account – and the false stories all made it into the press.

Coleen believed this was proof that the fellow WAG allegedly sold stories about her private life.

Despite Coleen’s claims, Rebekah vowed to prove her innocence, and it’s understood she hired a team of forensic IT experts to help her do so.
