Cheryl Tweedy has hit out at claims her mum was involved in her split with Liam Payne.
The former X Factor judge just announced she and singer Liam have called it quits after two and a half years together.
And just hours later the Geordie star has come out to slam rumours her mum Joan had something to do with their break up.
“I hate responding to stuff esp at such difficult times but I cannot sit here and listen to such nasty, false articles regarding my mam,” she wrote in a statement on Twitter.

“I don’t know why they involve her in stories about me,” she added. “I can assure you she has absolutely nothing to do with any of it. I am a grown woman who is capable of dealing with my own life.
“She is a soft and kind woman who doesn’t deserve to be dragged into something that has nothing whatsoever to do with her.”
It comes after the Mail Online claimed that Joan was “part of the problem”.
“Cheryl’s mum is part of the problem,” a source told her. “She indulges her behaviour and never reprimands her. Instead, Joan will make everyone around Cheryl tow the line.
“Cheryl often uses her mother as a messenger and she is always there. If you’re with Cheryl, you live in “Cheryl world” – it’s not an equal rights.
“Although Liam initially got on with Cheryl’s mother, in the end he felt that her mum was too much in the way – it was always two against one,” the source added.
