Caroline Flack’s friend Bradley Simmonds admits he regrets not being ‘there for her’

Caroline Flack’s friend Bradley Simmonds has admitted he regrets not being “there for her” before her tragic death.

The former Love Island host was found dead at her home in London on February 15 last year, after taking her own life.

This weekend, Caroline’s close friends and family are taking part in a tough charity challenge in her honour, to raise money for Samaritans.

The presenter’s personal trainer Bradley will be joined by some of her closest pals – including Mollie, Olly Murs and Lou Teasdale – to climb some of the highest peaks in the Lake District.

Ahead of the charity challenge, Bradley opened up to the Mirror about Caroline’s tragic death.

The 26-year-old revealed he stopped training with Caroline in 2019 due to another work commitment, which is a huge regret.

“Even now I feel I could have been there for her, got her training again – all these things go through my mind,” he said.

“She was hilarious, we had such a good connection and friendship. She got in incredible shape and her mental health was a lot better.”

“We would go out, eat well at restaurants, I helped her with her nutrition and she was in a great place.”

“Then, all of a sudden, what happened was just a massive shock and really tough to swallow.”

Bradley explained that he stopped training with Caroline to film a documentary.

He said: “I referred her to a friend and, unfortunately, she didn’t maintain that consistency – she liked training with me.”

“I can’t blame myself but I wished that I didn’t do that documentary.”

Speaking about this weekend’s charity challenge, Bradley added: “We’ve got Olly Murs, Louise Redknapp, and some of her closest family and friends.”

“We’re going to raise awareness of mental health and raise money as well. She should just be celebrated because she was a great person.”
