Ashley Cain has revealed he’s been left with breathing difficulties after contracting Covid-19.
Taking to his Instagram Stories on Monday, the Ex On The Beach star revealed he had been bed-bound for days after testing positive for the deadly virus.
In a series of videos, the 30-year-old explained he’d struggled with many of the typical symptoms – including a loss of taste and smell, as well as fever and fatigue.
He said: “It’s been a mad 10 days, I actually caught Covid quite bad to be honest. I was in bed straight for five days, couldn’t get up.”
“Had fever-like symptoms so I was going hot then cold, lost my smell, my taste, headaches, backaches, just body completely aching, and then I started developing problems with breathing as well.”
“I still tried to workout in the house or the garden whatever just to tick over because working out, getting out is the only thing that brings me any kind of joy at the minute so it was important for me to still try.”
“Being locked in, especially with what I’ve gone through, is just really mentally taxing on your head,” Ashley added, referencing the death of his baby daughter Azaylia earlier this year.
The reality star finished isolating on Sunday and celebrated by getting out for a bike ride and a swim, but admitted his body has been set back by Covid.
Ashley said: “The Covid has took me way back, my body’s not recovering… It felt like I was biking with my breaks on with flat tires.”
“Towards the end of the bike ride, I was struggling with my breathing and also my muscles were fatiguing because I couldn’t get as much oxygen in as I wanted, so like I don’t know how long it’s going to take to get back to where I was and recover.”
“Make sure you’re safe everybody… Just be mindful [Covid] is still out there, people are catching it and it is effecting people.”
