Ant McPartlin claimed that he meant no “disrespect” after he was criticised by a judge for not attending his divorce hearing with ex, Lisa Armstrong.
The presenter skipped the hearing on Monday and was instead spotted out on a walk with his girlfriend, Anne-Marie Corbett.
According to The Sun, Mr. Justice Mostyn blasted Ant for not attending the hearing, as he stated: “Why is he not here? There isn’t one law for the famous and one for the rest of the community.”
“The rules say he was supposed to be here – and that can be reported. He has been told off,” the judge continued.
A representative for the 42-year-old has since released a statement regarding his absence from court and claimed that Ant was told not to attend the hearing.
“Ant was advised by his media barrister that he didn’t need to attend court today. There was absolutely no intent to disrespect the court,” the spokesperson stated.
The pair were granted a divorce last month when Ant admitted to adultery, as he began dating Anne-Marie while they were still technically married.
