Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are set to star in a documentary style television show, after the show was shelved last year when Ant was charged with drink-driving and checked into rehab.

The TV presenters recently reunited after Ant’s year-long break from TV for their role on Britain’s Got Talent.

The new doc styled show, Ant and Dec’s DNA Journey will see the duo discover their long lost family.

ITV’s chief, Kevin Lygo, told The Mirror about the show back in March, he said: “It’s not just ‘Ghengis Khan was your great great grandfather’, it’s this village here in Ireland contains relatives you don’t know about from just two generations back.”

Originally the family tree themed show was to follow the presenters discover their roots while drinking in local pubs – but now the drinking element is questionable.

The next season of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway will not be released until 2020.
