Amber Gill has opened up about the rumours that she lost out on a place on Dancing on Ice to Love Island co-star Maura Higgins.
The Love Island winner explained that she had a meeting with the show bosses, but wasn’t convinced that she wanted a slot on the show.
Amber told The Sun that she was never under any impression that she had secured a place on the ice-skating program.
“I didn’t realise I had a place to lose, to be honest,” she said.
“I think a few islanders from this series went to ITV and had a chat about Dancing On Ice, but it’s a super-huge commitment.”
“I went away from that meeting thinking it was probably a bit much, training constantly.”
“I went to see them, though, because I think you have got to find out what something is before you just say a flat-out no.”
Amber hammered home that there is definitely no animosity or feeling of competitiveness between her and Maura, or between her and any of her other Love Island cast mates.
“There’s definitely no competition on my part.”
“I’m totally different from everyone else. If I get picked for things, great, but if somebody else gets picked, that’s fine. I;m my own person and I’m on my own path,” she said.
