Amber Gill has admitted that she lost herself after winning Love Island last year.
The Newcastle beauty opened up to her 2.8million Instagram followers, admitting that although it looks like she has got it all together – she really doesn’t.
The 23-year-old shared a Life Update video on Monday, writing: “Sometimes I forget to update everyone about me personally, I seem like I’ve got it together when really I don’t.”
“I feel like 2020 is the year of change and I’ve really had to stop and re-evaluate what I’ve been doing and what message I’m trying to put out.
“Losing myself a little bit is one of the best things that has happened to me because in regaining I feel more confident about what I want to pursue and who I am as a person.
“I definitely need to start doing more of what I love but I am super grateful for my journey although it is a crazy one and all of your support and love over the past year but it’s just time to switch things up a little and not put myself in a box I don’t belong in (don’t worry I’m not going anywhere just changing the style of what I do).”
“There is a lot of big things in the workings and plannings for me towards the end of this year start of next and I want to share more of who I am and what I believe in with everyone.
“I actually can’t believe I’m sharing something like this but it’s feels good????” she concluded the post.
In the video, the Love Island winner said: “In 23, I never thought that this strong, independent, confident, opinionated girl would ever lose herself but she did.
Amber admitted that she is “very different” from the usual “influencer”, but that she was scared to be herself for fear of what people would say.
“I was so scared of what people would say. So many people are throwing opinions at you, and you start to think ‘Am I doing the right thing or not?’
“I’m going to start making my social media and my communicate with you guys more me,” she added, “It’s time for me to have a little bit of a change and do the stuff that I’m passionate about.”
Love Island stars flooded the comment section to show their support for Amber, with Shaughna Phillips writing: “You sound so secure and happy and you also look absolutely incredible, you deserve every success that comes your way ????????????”
