X Factor auditions back in Dublin – four years after they last came

X Factor has announced they will be coming back to Ireland – with auditions being held this weekend.

Hopefuls have a chance to impress the judges on Saturday in Dublin’s Convention Centre from 9am.

But X Factor producers have revealed that Simon Cowell has put a ban on Cranberries covers – but does want to see Westlife songs.

It is the first time in four years that the X Factor auditions have been held here, after Simon Cowell claimed we were lacking in talent.

Returning: Both Simon and Cheryl are back this year

Producers will be holding initial auditions over two days, before the judges come back to see the best they have come up with.

Last time the judges came here, they discovered Niall Horan – now part of the world’s biggest boyband One Direction. Tesco worker Mary Byrne was also uncovered.

So far only Simon and Cheryl Cole have been confirmed for the panel, but Louis Walsh and one other person – most likely Olly Murs – will also be involved.
