We FINALLY know when Peaky Blinders will be back on our screens

And it's much sooner than we thought!

The official premiere date for season five of Peaky Blinders has finally been revealed.

The popular gangster drama will return to it’s new home on BBC One on Sunday, August 25 at 9pm.

The new season will be set in the aftermath of the Wall Street Crash, and the synopsis reads: “When Tommy Shelby MP (Cillian Murphy) is approached by a charismatic politician with a bold vision for Britain, he realises that his response will affect not just his family’s future but that of the entire nation.”

During a previous interview with RadioTimes, the show’s creator Steven Knight said: “I personally believe – and I think everybody involved believes – that this is the best series yet, for all sorts of reasons.”

“There’s a lot going on, there’s a lot of bells ringing, there’s a lot of conflict happening,” he said.
