WATCH: Love Island’s Rosie Williams defends herself after Piers Morgan slams her for ‘looking stupid on TV’

The interview took an awkward turn

Love Island’s Rosie Williams has defended herself, after Piers Morgan slammed her for “looking stupid on TV”.

Appearing on GMB this morning, Rosie was grilled by the controversial presenter over her decision to enter the villa.

“Rosie, you achieved a post-graduate master of laws degree from the University of Chester and you’ve given up all that to go in to a villa of half-wits to try and have sex on national TV,” Piers said.

“Why? Why would you do that?” he asked her.

Rosie then stated that it was a once in a lifetime opportunity for her.

But, a confused Piers continued,  “What do your family make of you giving up this successful law career to go and make yourself look stupid on TV?”

A displeased Rosie snapped back, “My family are very proud of me, I don’t think I made myself look stupid on TV.”

The reality star recently gave up a career in law to take part in the popular Love Island show.

Defending her reason to go on show to find love, Rosie said, “I was working 18 hours day in a law firm, with so many sleepless nights.”

Rosie also added, “Its not as glamorous as it seems, so this once in a lifetime opportunity came up and it just seemed like the best thing for me.”

An annoyed Piers then asked, “What is this opportunity though? What do you think you’re going to be achieving?|

She replied, “When you’re working 18 hour days, you haven’t got a lot of time to go out and meet men and find love.”

“It was very difficult for me, I’ve studied for 8 years, so there’s not a lot of time for me, and this was a time to spend 24 hours a day with someone I could hopefully spend the rest of my life with.”

Rosie was the latest contestant to be booted out of the villa, after her partner Adam Collard chose to re-couple with Zara McDermott.
