Voice of Ireland star Bressie reveals: 'I nearly got fired for wearing the wrong pair of SOCKS'

Bressie has admitted that producers are so strict on The Voice of Ireland, that he nearly got sacked after wearing different socks.

The Mullingar musician admitted that all the coaches have to wear the same clothes during filming, for continuity purposes.

“I was wearing a leather shirt and you know who wears a leather shirt and the heat of it,” he said.

“I was saying, c’mon seriously can I take this off and they went ‘no, continuity’.”

“I remember, I nearly got fired for wearing a different pair of socks because they were saying ‘we can see your socks’.”

Speaking to the Nicky Byrne Show on 2FM, Bressie added that he was worried when new coaches Una Foden and Rachel Stephens joined the panel.

The girl band stars replaced Jamelia and Dolores O’Riordan, and will debut in the show in the new year.

“We’ve Una Foden and Rachel Stevens from S Club 7 which is definitely a departure from Delores from the Cranberries. They fit straight in.”

Worried: Bressie didn’t know if the girls would fit in | VIPIRELAND.COM

“I was worried at the start, two new people, is it going to upset it too much. Is it going to be too hard? It wasn’t at all,” he explained.

Una and Rachel join Bressie and Westlife star Kian Egan in the new season.

Bressie said the new girls knew exactly what to do during filming of the RTE talent show.

“It’s a lot to take in and you need to understand the format; it’s not like you’re just hitting buttons and smiling.

“You’ve to think what you’re doing. They really knew what they had to do from day one,” he said.
