TV3 is over Nikita and WON'T buy 'new Tallafornia' – as boss believes country is over tacky reality

TV3 has revealed they won’t be buying Ireland’s tacky ‘new Tallafornia’ – because it’s absolutely awful.

The independent station was tipped to pick up Infectious, which signed up former Tallafornians Nikita Murray, Marc O’Neill and Phil Penny.

They are also joined by people including controversial glamour model Ava Van Rose and Gay Night host David D-Pole for the tacky new series.

But despite previously screening two series of Tallafornia, TV3 boss Jeff Ford told Goss.ie he won’t buy the programme after a viewing of the show. He said: “I think we’ve gone past that point.”

And Jeff told Goss.ie that he doesn’t even think it will be a fit for 3e after its upcoming relaunch.

He added: “I think the thing about shows that are appealing to very very young audiences should be on 3e.

“3e, again, is going to develop into a very different channel next year because what we’re going to do with that.

“We’re already started seeing in the ratings how it’s beginning to go up so no, you place programmes that have that appeal onto channels that have an audience.”

Already, UTV Ireland has said they won’t be buying the series, after it was claimed they were in the market for it.

It is also unlikely RTE will be interested, given they have their own new reality series coming, set in Canada.

Before Tallafornia’s second season ended it quickly became one of TV3’s most talked about shows.
