TV3 enlisted help of serving gardai to ensure new soap Red Rock is totally realistic

TV3’s new soap Red Rock enlisted the help of real gardai to ensure the new show is as realistic as possible.

Filming is currently underway for the show in Dublin, which will shown twice a week from the start of January.

Producers of Red Rock wanted to make sure that the show, which is set in a seaside garda station, was as accurate as possible so consulted serving officers.

“The producers consulted the gardai on everything, even down to the type of lockers and pool tables in the room,” a source told the Star.

“So what viewers see in the Red Rock station is typically what you see in a real-life Garda station.

“Apparently they were really helpful and positive about the show coming out and we are sure the authenticity will come across well.”

Bosses have decided that Red Rock, which stars Jane McGrath, won’t be broadcast at exactly the same time as Fair City so soap fans can enjoy both.

Previously Goss.ie revealed the soap is being given €4.5 million of public money, with an extra €2.5 million from TV3 – giving it a budget of €7 million.
