This year's Big Brother winner to be Irish – for the first time in over a decade

This year’s Big Brother winner could be Irish for the first time since 2001.

Contestants Ashleigh Coyle and Christopher Hall have been tipped to take the winning title this year.

Ashleigh, 18, is a former Miss Derry, and has been tipped to win by Paddy Power. The bookies are offering odds of just 2/1 that she will win the final.

Irish winner: Brian Dowling was the last Irish contestant to win

It would be the first time an Irish contestant has won the show since Brian Downling won in 2001.

Ashleigh’s only competition is fellow Irish housemate Christopher Hall.

The trainee journalist is second favourite to win, making it likely that an Irish contestant will win the Channel 5 series.
