This is why everyone is talking about Netflix’s new film Do Revenge

Do Revenge joined Netflix last week, and it is currently the #1 trending film on the streaming giant.

Riverdale’s Camila Mendes and Stranger Things star Maya Hawke star as two teenage girls who have been ostracized by their peers due to situations out of their control.

Rather than sit back and take it, a random meeting between the pair results in them helping each other get revenge on their respective bullies.

Rish Shah, Talia Ryder, Jonathan Daviss, Maia Reficco, Paris Berelc, Alisha Boe and Sophie Turner also star in the dark comedy, which has been getting rave reviews online.

One fan tweeted: “Do Revenge is an immediate masterpiece. An essential addition to teen movie canon that manages to pay homage to its roots while being fresh, feminist & f**king funny. Stylistically subversive, it’s a nuanced dissection of female rage with top tier performances. Genuinely obsessed.”

Another wrote: “do revenge is literally iconic. maya hawke and camila mendes are insane together. the outfits, the twists, the soundtrack, this movie is 5/5.”

Other viewers took to Twitter to react to the film’s shock plot twist.

One wrote: “the do revenge plot twist was genuinely the first good plot twist ive seen in a long time like i was actually not expecting it at all.”

Another tweeted: “y’all so i just watched Do Revenge on Netflix, and i’m speechless, that movie is SO FUCKING GOOD not even kidding it was so amazing. the acting, the characters, the actors, the PLOT TWIST, i can’t even.”

Do Revenge is inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s 1951 film Strangers on a Train, and features nods to classic ’90s teen movies such as Clueless, 10 Things I Hate About You, and Cruel Intentions.

Jennifer Kaytin Robinson is the director and co-writer of the film, with Celeste Ballard as the other co-writer.
