The top trending TV shows and movies on Netflix to watch on this rainy day

What’s a better way to spend a rainy day like today then to cosy up on the couch and watch some Netflix?

We have rounded up the top five trending movies and TV shows in Ireland right now to keep you entertained on this gloomy day.

Take a look:

1. Sophie: A Murder In West Cork

Sophie: A Murder In West Cork was added to Netflix last week, and it is currently the number one trending flick on the streaming giant.

The docuseries examines the case of French producer Sophie Toscan du Plantier, who was killed near Toormore, Schull in 1996.

The three-part series is from Oscar winning producer Simon Chinn, and features contributions from residents of Schull as well as Sophie’s family – including her son Pierre-Louis Baudey.

The official synopsis for the true-crime series reads: “Sophie’s brutal murder in one of the most beautiful and remote regions of Ireland shocked the country and triggered one of the biggest investigations it had ever seen – and over the next two and a half decades became a national obsession in both Ireland and France.”

“With access both to the victim’s family and those involved in the story, the series unravels this extraordinary story from its beginnings and offers a unique window into the ongoing battle to find justice for Sophie.”

2. Sex/Life

Sex/Life follows a woman who’s daring sexual past collides with her married-with-kids present, when the bad-boy ex she can’t stop thinking about returns back into her life.

Starring Sarah Shahi, Mike Vogel and Adam Demos, the steamy series has been a huge hit with viewers.

Season one is available to watch on Netflix right now.

3. Too Hot To Handle

Too Hot To Handle see ten singletons move into a luxury beachside villa located in Turks and Caicos in the hopes of finding love.

The twist? The contestants are banned from getting physical with each other, so that they can form deeper, more emotional connections.

4. The Serpent

Inspired by real events, The Serpent reveals the story of serial conman Charles Sobhraj and the remarkable attempts to bring him to justice.

Charles (played by Tahar Rahim) posed as a gem dealer and travelled around Asia with his girlfriend Marie-Andrée Leclerc (played by Jenna Coleman) to commit a series of crimes.

Watch the drama series on Netflix now.

5. Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw
